The Fort Collins Rock Farm is an innovative Public Benefit Corporation (PBC) that is incubating a new app-based alternative economic model that champions enhanced social and economic participation, perpetuating local sustainability and resilience more logically and organically within the Fort Collins community.
Our Mission
Our mission is to provide new app-based technology that fundamentally changes and enhances the way Fort Collins residents and local businesses engage in, and consummate, economic transactions. We are modernizing and micronizing an ancient method of trade that has worked for millennia in order to create an astonishing variety of new beneficial economic opportunities as well as protect and fortify our local community from the harmful and destabilizing global and domestic economic geopolitical events that can have a negative financial impact on everyone. We do this through the unique Rock Farm ROCKS ledger which allows Rock Farm members to conduct every day, mutually beneficial, business transactions…and get this…without the use of money but with the same transactional ease as modern money! This new side-by-side transactional socioeconomic model incorporates and organizes key social and economic ideals into an organic, self-perpetuating, and self-reinforcing matrix of Fort Collins residents and local businesses. Put simply, we facilitate enhanced local connectivity, economic resilience, and an accelerated velocity of economic activity to drive prosperity, solely for the benefit of the Fort Collins community.
Our Vision
Utopia may be a stretch, but the aim of this innovative app-based Rock Farm model is, in essence, to neutralize the inherent unfair “advantage” and “disadvantage” that is built into today’s economic system by maximizing the opportunity and benefit to both parties in a transaction. This is accomplished by providing Rock Farm members with new efficient app-based ways to augment economic opportunities as well as provide the choice to negotiate agreeable value in all transactions. Even better, you can start engaging in ROCKS transactions without actually having any ROCKS! Through the Rock Farm, we are collectively creating a social and economic system that facilitates more equitable participation across the full spectrum of our community – from the unbanked to the highest income residents – creating virtuous economic cohesiveness, stability, and fairness, that uniquely and beneficially binds economic activity and loyal local prosperity to Fort Collins.
In this unique alternative Rock Farm model, there is simply no need or benefit to accumulate, but rather, there will be a natural desire and tendency towards (netting to) a zero balance of, Rock Farm ROCKS – all the while increasing the velocity of mutually agreeable and beneficial social and economic transactions exclusively within, and for, the Fort Collins community.
